HERNIA INTERNAL SENDS A SPANISH SURGICAL TEAM TO TRAIN LOCALS ON HERNIA MESH REPAIR

Hernia International Brings Hope to Mukono South

In a remarkable act of compassion and global partnership, Hernia International, a UK-based charity, sent a dedicated team of surgeons from Spain to Mukono South Constituency in Uganda. Their mission was simple yet profound—to restore health, share knowledge, and bring smiles to those in need.

For several days, the visiting surgical team worked tirelessly at Herona Community Hospital in Kisoga, performing life-changing hernia operations completely free of charge. Patients who had endured years of pain and discomfort finally found relief, thanks to the skill and generosity of the international volunteers.

Beyond the surgeries, the Spanish surgeons devoted time to training and mentoring local doctors and medical staff at Herona Community Hospital. Through hands-on sessions and collaborative procedures, they shared advanced surgical techniques and best practices, ensuring that the impact of their visit would continue long after their departure.

The collaboration strengthened the hospital’s capacity to manage hernia cases and inspired renewed confidence among the local medical team. Community members, patients, and leaders alike expressed deep gratitude for the selfless service and the spirit of unity that transcended borders.

Herona Community Hospital, guided by its slogan “Serving our community regardless,” stood as a proud host and partner in this humanitarian effort. The success of the mission not only healed bodies but also built bridges of friendship and professional growth between Uganda and Spain, under the banner of Hernia International’s enduring commitment to global health.
